Description

Nothing other than grapes were added or used in the creation of this totally natural wine, made from grapes grown on 30+ year old vines in the Santa Ynez Valley. The grapes were crushed and destemmed like a red wine, then put into open-top fermenters where wild yeasts present on the grape skins naturally completed the fermentation process. No sulfur or other preservatives were added, nor did it go through any filtration prior to bottling. The result is a wild and unusual wine with clean, refreshing flavors that draw you in after each sip.

The 2016 Jurassic Park Natural Chenin Blanc is medium to deep gold with a wonderfully perfumed nose of lime candy, honeycomb, spiced peach cobbler, lychee, jasmine, apple pie and pastry crust—tons of layers! Full-bodied and dry, it segues in the mouth from citrus to stone fruits to honeyed notes, with seamless acidity and lots of texture to balance all those layers, finishing very long. 92 pts
